League Info
Panhandle Proving Grounds was established to bring a new format of training for the summer.
CLINICS
Open to grades 2-12.
No wrestling experience required.
-Novice Clinic (1st & 2nd year wrestlers)
-Advanced Clinic (experienced wrestlers)
College coaches, wrestlers, high school coaches when possible as clinicians.
DUALS/SCRAMBLES
Open to grades 5-12.
1+ year of wrestling experience required.
After each clinic, teams are assigned to mats for live wrestling. If dual format is not worthwhile, wrestlers will be grouped based on size and experience to find competitive match ups. Wrestlers will be separated by team as much as possible. The goal is 2 matches for each wrestler with more if time permits.
* Official Referees may not be available. Using other coaches, college or high school wrestlers as refs may occur.
TOURNAMENT
Open to grades 2-12.
1+ year of wrestling experience recommended.
The summer’s final session will be a round-robin tournament using Madison weights. (Weigh-ins at check in). Pools of 4-5. In cases of uneven weight distribution, pools of three or 8-man double elimination brackets may be used. Weight class winners receive awards.

Founded on a shared passion for developing young wrestlers and growing the sport.
Maryland Summer Wrestling League has been around for many years. The PPG league is designed with their league mind. We are attempting to build a successful program similar in the WV Eastern Panhandle.
SCHEDULE
CLINICS/ MEETS
Check-in will be from 4:30-4:55pm.
Advanced and Novice Clinics are 5:00-6:00pm.
Dual meet/scramble wrestling 6:00-9:00pm
TOURNAMENT
Check-in/weigh-ins 4:30-5:15pm
Wrestling scheduled from 5:30-9:00pm.
Clinics will fill in with Coaches/Clinicians

Two registration options; Clinics Only or Full Season
Clinic Only includes all the clinics and the season end tournament.
Full Season includes all the clinics, meets and the season end tournament.
